In 2011, after his performance in Toronto, Canada, Mikayelian was awarded from the House of Commons of Canada by the Hon. Jim Karygiannis, Member of Parliament of Scarborough-Agincourt.
The Hon. Jim Karygiannis also gave Maikayelian the Charter of Rights of the Canadian citizen as an award in 2012.
